The map shows the steamboat landing, proposed dam, town plan and other details. The present map also shows recent building purchases in red, the lands owned by the Panhandle Lumber Company, the railroad station and a host of other details. A nice map of this 20th Century Washington Logging town.

Ione is in northeastern Washington, 80 miles north of Spokane. In the late 1880s, the first Steamers began landing at Ione. The post office was opened in 1896 and in 1910, an engineer located a supply of limestone suitable for making Cement. The town's primary industry for many years was Lumber.
