Description
Scarce letter sheet style birdseye view, issued by Charles Magnus at the beginning of the Civil War. Magnus is well regarded for his large format birdseye views of major American Cities and for his letter sheets, which were essentially stationary with printed maps on the upper or lower half of the sheet. Because of the paper quality and the separately issued nature of the work, they are now quite scarce. This example lacks Magnus' imprint, but is similar to his larger birdseye view of the City.
