Last year we shipped over 4,500 antique maps to more than 50 countries. Maps are shipped Monday through Friday year-round. If an order is received before 2 PM PST, we will ship the order that day. If an order is received after that time, we will ship the next day. We ship maps either flat in custom packages or in specially ordered thick tubes. Shipping rates are provided as part of the checkout process.

Description

First edition of Lloyd's striking map of California and Nevada, hand colored by counties.

The map shows the US Mail Route, Wagon Route from LA to Salt Lake, Old Telegraph and Express Route, Transcontinental railroad lines, and other roads. Locates towns, rivers, mountains, lakes, Indians, Forts, mines Missions and many other early details. Predates Riverside, Imperial, Orange, Ventura and a number of other counties. Las Vegas is still an Old Mormon fort. Massive Grand Interior Basin named in Nevada.

An excellent and suprisingly scarce early map. HH Lloyd's Atlas of the United States was never issued as a separate Atlas. Its only appearance is as a supplement to County and State atlases published by Warner & Beers.
