Klockhoff's map first appeared in the 1782 edition of Mandrillon's Le Spectateur Americain . . . , first published in Paris in 1782. The 1782 edition of Klockhoff's map is identified by Ashley Baynton Williams article Early Maps of the United States , which appears in the on line journal Map Forum.
