Description

Rare map of Italy, Greece, Sicily, Sardinia, Corsica, Hungary and the Balkans region.

The de la Feuille family came to Amsterdam from France in 1683. The father, Daniel, was a goldsmith and engraver. This map was made by Jacob on the basis of several contemporary maps. It is a very attractive map, very much in the style of late 17th century Dutch cartography: emphasizing clarity and readability, handsomely colored and bearing an impressive Baroque cartouche in which the good cherubs relax and smile and evil cherubs are cast down toward Hell.

The map is quite scarce on the market.
