Description

Very rare double hemisphere map of the World, most likely from late edition of Bowles Atlas Minor. Hawaii is shown (Ohwyee) and the United States is named, but the NW Coast of America is still very curiously configured and the NW Coast of America and NW Passage are still shown in primitive fashion. Dieman's Land is still attached to New Holland (Australia) and a curious configuration for New Zealand. A note in the southern hemisphere mentions the existence of Icebergs and unihabited Islands. North polar inset.
