Engraved map, printed on four sheets, dissected and mounted on linen, inset maps of the surrounding area - 'Mare Mediterraneo, Mare Jonio, Mare Africano' - and of Malta and Gozo, the map surrounded by decorative border composed of vignettes, views and plans, several small areas of silver fish damage with consequent loss of engraved surface, one or two areas of discolouration, but generally a fine impression in sound condition. Uncommon. The present map appears to be a later state than the example in the King's Topographical Collection at the British Library as the text 'Roma 31 Agosto 1779' has been removed from the title cartouche.
