Description
Two excellent Revolutionary War battle plans on a single sheet. The larger plan shows the operations in the Cooper River east of Charleston, including a key noting places and the various advances of the British War ships and other battle details. Ten war ships are named and shown off the coast, along with 8 smaller ships. The smaller plan shows the attack on Ft. Moultrie by the British, locating 9 ships, each named. The map was bound into Volume III of William Gordon's THE HISTORY OF THE RISE, PROGRESS, AND ESTABLISHMENT OF THE INDEPENDENCE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA… published in London in 1788. Minor repaired tear one inch into printed image, but barely noticeable.
