If an order is received after that time, we will ship the next day. We ship maps either flat in custom packages or in specially ordered thick tubes. Interesting map of the World on a reverse projection, showing the coastal outlines of the world. The projection is reversed, as if looking at the earth from inside its core. Nice early Australia and Antarctic coastal outlines, as well as partial New Zealand . From a scarce work by the heirs of Nicholas Sanson. No prior listings in dealer catalogues in the past 20 years.

One of the earliest of Sanson's world maps and one of the earliest obtainable maps to show the five Great Lakes. The map is based upon Sanson's 1651 map of the world (Shirley 390), but with more prominence given to marine and river features. California is shown as an island.
