Description

Scarce map of Mexico and Upper California, published two years prior to Texas becoming a Republic. Texas is named, and includes a number of palce naems, including Presidio, S Antonio, Nadadco, Nacogdoches, Guarde, Ranco, Lagunilla, Encinos, Mascoso, Loredo and a number of coastal towns. Both of the mythical rivers in Californqai (Sacramento and Rio S. Buenaventura are shown extending to Lakes Timpanagos and Teguayo. A number of settlements are shown on the Upper Colorado River and around Utah. The missions of Upper California are shown. The Gila is shown incorrectly flowing into the Gulf of California and a conjectural Martiers River is shown west of the Colorado River. Ncie detail in New Mexico and Colorado, including Spanish Pike, James Peak and settlemetns west of the Rocky Mountains, which are referred to as Montagnes Oregon ou Rocheues.
