If an order is received after that time, we will ship the next day. We ship maps either flat in custom packages or in specially ordered thick tubes. Richly engraved decorative map of North America, showing California as and Island, in Scherer's distinctive style. Scherer's Atlas Novus was a 7 volume compendium which demonstrated his unique style and devout Jesuit religious values. The atlas was produced by a young Johann Baptiste Homann and others, demonstrating a unique quality which makes this the first "thematic atlas". McLaughlin 161. Includes large vignette and cartouche, sea monsters and several sailing ships including a large ship off the tip of the Baja.
