Description
Attractive full color example of John Norden's map of Middlesex, from the 1637 edition of Camden's Britannia. London shown in lower right corner. Includes a compass rose and elaborately engraved cartouches for the title, the key and the scale. William Camden first issued his Britannia in 1586, but did not include maps until the 1607 edition. The maps in the 1637 edition are essentially unchanged from the 1607 edition. Margins restored and reinforced as required. Minor reinforcement to the centerfold, else a nice full color example.
