Description

Rare 18th Century Swedish map of the Caribbean, with an untitled inset map of the Bahamas. Daniel Djurberg was a professor at Upsala University in Sweden.

Djurberg published a Geography in the later part of the 18th Century and early 19th Century in Swedish. He is perhaps most famous in cartographic circles for his map of Polynesia and Australia, where which was the first to use Cook's term Ulimaroa for the Australian continent. His maps rarely appear on the market.

The present example is trimmedto the upper and right neatlines, with a tiny bit of loss and some minor misfolding. An interesting map of the Caribbean and part of Florida, from a rare Swedish work.
