Description

Fantastic pictorial map of Texas published by the Dallas Public Library and showcasing the state’s rich literary history.

The map focuses on 19th-century literature that exemplified the frontier lifestyle of the Republic and Early American period. Rare earlier texts appear, like Cabeza de Vaca’s Narrative, and the map is decorated with pictogram-style decorations by Barbara Whitehead’s This Bitterly Beautiful Land. In all, approximately one hundred novels, biographies, and narratives are shown on the map.
