A finely engraved map of the principality of Moldavia, bordered by Russia and Bulgaria, with rich topographic rendering. The cartographic detail includes a schematic of rivers, towns, and mountain ranges, with particular attention given to the Carpathian geography and tributaries of the Danube and Prut Rivers. Major locations such as Modavorum Vigilia, Soczow, and Choczyn (Khotyn) are marked.
The decorative elements are emblematic of the early 18th-century Augsburg mapmaking style. At lower left, a female allegorical figure reclines in a classical posture against a stone plinth labeled "Moldavia", accompanied by a pastoral landscape showing horses grazing. At lower right, a baroque cartouche bears a coat of arms surmounted by strap and floral scrollwork.
The engraving is by Johann Andreas Pfeffel (1674–1748), a prominent Augsburg engraver known for his collaborations with cartographers such as Johann Stridbeck and Matthäus Seutter.
