Description

Finely crafted school atlas, published in Nuremberg.  In the text, the publisher promotes this "small school atlas in a convenient format" alongside their "larger edition" of the Atlas Antiquus Danvillianus by d'Anville, as well as other "historical and geographical works, which are available from us in abundance."

The hand colored maps are very nice, most have elegant title vignettes.

The atlas was also issued by Johann Christoph Weigel and Adam Gottlieb Schneider in 1791.

Rarity

The atlas is very rare.

OCLC locates 1 example at the National & University Library, Strasbourg.
