Description

1944 Berlin-Published Map of Europe under Nazi Rule.

Scarce political map of Europe, showing the German territorial expansion during World War II.

Austria and the Czech Republic have been wholly subsumed into Germany.

Interestingly, three territories on the edges of Germany are given secondary but associated status: Alsace-Lorrain, Slovenia Styria, and the "General-gouvernement" of occupied Poland.

The Dodecanese are labeled as a territory of Italy.

The map has a few interesting features in the Middle East, including the first and second Neutral Zones on the northeast border of Saudi Arabia. Kuwait is given as a separate polity.

Late 1942 marked the height of Nazi power in Europe. From 1933 to 1943 the German state was domestically known as the Deutsches Reich, from 1943 to 1945 it was known as Großdeutsches Reich.
