Description

This is an attractive lithographic view of Krakow, executed by Lauvergne and Bayot, and printed by Lemercier in Paris.

The view provides an image of Krakow as seen from the Kosciuszko Mound. The image appeared in the atlas for Jean-Pierre Gaimard's Voyages de la commission scientifique du nord en Scandinavie, en Laponie au Spitzberg.

The scene captures Kraków's skyline. highlighting its iconic Gothic and Renaissance architecture, including the towering spires of St. Mary's Basilica and the formidable Wawel Castle.
