Description

Fine large format map Railroad map of California, issued by the State Railroad Commission.

The map is remarkably detailed, identifying 38 operating railroad lines (color coded) and providing remarkable detail throughout.

We note editions dated

  • November 15th 1889
  • March 30th 1896
  • November 15th 1891
  • January 1st 1900

The map was later significantly revised and enlarged. We note later editions of 1915, 1922 (OCLC locates 2 copies) and 1926 (3 copies).

Condition Description
Chromolithograph on early 20th-century clay-coated paper. Overall good condition but with noticeable wear such as toning, foxing, material loss top left corner, water damage, and creases. Top left corner professionally reinstated.
