Description

19th-Century Geographic "Rubik's Cube"

A puzzle in the form of 16 wooden cube blocks that can be assembled to make any of 6 maps (5 1/2 inches square). The original color lithograph guide sheet housed in the box with the cubes illustrates the six maps.

Rarity

Very rare. We can locate only one set, that in the Osher Map Library.

Condition Description
Original pictorial brown cardboard box with decorative top, printed in black and gold, bearing the multi-lingual title surrounding an image of a globe. Small loss to paper covering on top (lid) of box (image of globe intact and unaffected). Textured box sides with black tape repairs at corners. Complete. Remarkably nice condition.
