This remarkable title accompanied a very rare Russian map of the western part of the Russian Empire, produced by the Military Topographic Depot in 1832.

The map was created under the supervision of high-ranking military officials, including Captain Shchaba and General Maksimilian. It reflects the meticulous military-geographical efforts to chart out the empire’s borders and features, essential for both administrative and military purposes during the reign of Tsar Nicholas I.
