Description
Scarce early view of Amsterdam, published by Jacob Koppmayer in Augsberg in about 1685.
Koppmayer provides a fine panoramic view of Amsterdam from the north, with many merchant vessels illustrated and an elegant image of the city on the horizon.
Includes the coat of arms of the city of Amsterdam and the city seal at the top right, with a key below locating the buildings of the city. Signed at lower right in the plate: 'zufinden bey Jacob Copmajer'.
Rarity
The view is quite scarce. This is the second example we have offered for sale.
