Description
This hand-drawn map, shows the southern portion of the Jämtland County, including Åre, on the Åresjon River, which crosses the top portion of the map.
The date on the verso in pencil suggests that it was created around 1760 and 1761.
At the top left of the map is "No. 8" anda note which suggests the scale of the map.
The map was almost certainly drawn by a Swedish military engineer, as the map was acquired in a larger collection of hand drawn maps, some of which were signed by different 18th Century Swedish military engineers.

Iron gall ink linework with hand-color. Small area of foxing.
