Description
Rare map of Boston from the end of the nineteenth century, showing the number of churches and missions in each of the city's twenty-four wards. Ward 13, which encompasses part of South Boston, is noted as having three catholic churches and zero protestant churches, highlighting the Catholic community there. The South Bay tidal marsh is still shown, a reclamation project that was completed in 1882.

Flattened, with creasemarks (pinhole at lowermost crossfold). Minor staining on lower right. Pencil labeling on verso (showing through slightly). Three watermarks for "PARSONS PAPER CO HOLYOKE MASS 1890".
