If an order is received after that time, we will ship the next day. We ship maps either flat in custom packages or in specially ordered thick tubes. Description

This rare folio map of Africa, created by Franz Johann Joseph von Reilly, is based on the earlier works of Vaugondy.

The map, engraved in 1795, provides a comprehensive depiction of the African continent as understood in the late 18th century.

The map is adorned with a decorative cartouche featuring natural elements such as trees and foliage, which frame the title.

Various regions and territories are distinctly colored, highlighting the geographical knowledge and political boundaries of the time.

Condition Description

Original or contemporary hand-color. Engraving on 18th-century laid paper. Minor foxing and toning in the margins.
