Last year we shipped over 4,500 antique maps to more than 50 countries. Maps are shipped Monday through Friday year-round. If an order is received before 2 PM PST, we will ship the order that day. If an order is received after that time, we will ship the next day. We ship maps either flat in custom packages or in specially ordered thick tubes. Shipping rates are provided as part of the checkout process.

Description

Fine dark impression of the second edition of Giovanni's Botero's scarce map of the Europe, which appeared in the 1598 edition of Ruscelli's Geographiae.

The map follows the workd of Giovanni Lorenzo d'Anania, who published a very similar map in Venice in 1582. The map is derived from Ortelius' map of Europe

Wide margins and a fine dark impression.

Europe Spheroidale . . . 1860 [with Arctic]

This map, titled Europe sphéroïdale, is an intricately detailed depiction of the world focused on Europe and the surrounding regions, including parts of Africa and Asia. The map was drawn by the geographer F. A. Garnier and published by V. Jules Renouard in 1860. The decorative cartouche at the top includes a globe illustration with the inscription "Sphéricité de la terre," highlighting the spherical nature of the Earth.
