This beautifully detailed map of Scotland was created by George Louis Le Rouge, a noted French cartographer of the 18th century, and published in Paris. The map depicts the whole of Scotland, including the Orkney Islands.
In typical 18th-century style, the map features an elaborate title cartouche, decorated with hunting symbols like a stag, horn, and foliage, reflecting Scotland's association with hunting culture.
