Spectacular view of the Grand Canyon from CE Dutton's Atlas to Accompany the Monograph on the Tertiary History of the Grand Canyon District, published in Washington and engraved by Bien & Co. Dutton's Tertiary History is the most coveted of Grand Canyon plate books. This view shows a half dozen horses and riders I nthe foreground, watering on a plateau, with the vast expense of the canyon and Colordado River stretching out below. Individual plates from the Tertiary History are uncommon. The example offered here was cleanly split at the fold and has been professionally restored. Minor staining in the title are does not affect the image. Ordinarily a $600-700 view.
