Description

Scarce map of Alaska, Canada, the Arctic Circle and Siberia, exhibiting the discoveries of the early 19th Century. The 1825 Russian-English Treaty line is shown, along with a marvelously detailed treatment of the coast from Queen Charlotte's Islands to the Aleutians, including many Russian place names. The entirety of the coastline of Alaska and across the top of the continent in search of the NW Passage is shown in great detail, except for the region from King George VI to Cape Adelaide, which is is shown only as conjecture. This is one of the earliest modern maps to focus on Alaska and provide substantial details.
