Description: Scarce and highly desireable set of French Admiralty charts showing the regions around Jacksonville, Tampa, St. Augustine and the mouth of the St John's River. The maps are based upon the rare Spanish Portulano De La America Setentional, published in Madrid in 1809. This is the first example of this map we have ever seen offered separately on the market. Each chart measures approximately 10.5 x 7.5 inches. An essential map for Florida collectors. The map shows topographical details, soundings, place names, fortifications, anchorages and other points of interest in each of the 4 harbors.
