Description

Nice original antique aquatint engraving showing the constellations of the southern sky.

The print is detailed and attractively produced, with the constellations standing out against a blackened background. Constellations are labeled in Italian and include the whale, the centaur, and some of the zodiac signs, including Aquarius, Capricorn, Sagittarius, Scorpio, and Virgo.

This pleasing work was published in Italy in 1839 as part of Francesco Marmocchi's Atlante di Geografia Universale.

Condition Description
