Description

Detailed map of Mexico and the Southwestern United States, including Texas and California.

Includes the mythical river flowing from "L. Youtaw, probably L. Timpanagos" to Port. S. Franciso, via the Sacramento or Timpanagos River, with an equally apocryphal River S. Buenaventura flowing from an even smaller lake to the east, just opposite Long's Peak.

The map shows Texas on the eve of its Independence from Mexico, with the settlements of Natchitoches, La Trinidad, Ncagdoches, San Antonio, Salado, Paso de Norte, Dolores and other shown.

California is new Albion, with the Mission system noted. Long's Peak appears in Colorado, along with James Peak. The Upper Rio Grande River area of New Mexico, including Taos and Santa Fe, are well defined.
