Description

Finely detailed map of Mexico and the Republic of Texas.

Texas is shown in is largest "stovepipe" configuration, with the northern boundary reaching to the area near Cheyenne Wyoming, just east of the American Fur Trading Depot on the east side of Salt Lake.

The map covers all of Upper California and shows the missions, early forts and information contemporary to the discovery of gold. Several settlement and forts near Youtah and the Great Salt Lake. New Mexico and Utah now appear in Territorial format. A large misshapen Texas includes extensive early details.

The map provides a very definitive, if inaccurate configuration of the Colorado River and the Gila River.

The Rio Buneaventuray and its northern branch descend from the northeast toward San Francisco Bay, but no longer is the second mythical Salt Lake shown as the source of this river.

The map includes early roads, Forts, Indians, Towns, Mountains, Rivers, lakes and other details. An excellent English map of the American West.
