Description

Fine promotional wall map of the State of Sonora in Mexico, pubilshed by Aurelio Cadena y Marin.

The map is decorated with views and the Mexican Eagle, and is packed with promotional text covering the history, statistics, commerce, natural resources, and other details of Sonora. Across the top are a list of important residents, including the Governor, Ramon Corral.

The map includes several bird's-eye views, including views of "Nogales Sonora y Arizona," the City and Port of Guaymas, a view of the Bay of Guaymas, a Church in Guaymas and the town of Alamos.

The map is colored by Districts and includes Arizona north to above Tucson, western Chihuahua, and parts of Baja California and the Gulf of California.

The map is of the utmost rarity, with no examples located in OCLC. We note that Cadena y Marin published similar maps of Coahuila de Zaragoza, Tabasco, and Tamaulipas, all of which are exceedingly rare.
