Description

One of the First Printed Railroad Maps

Detailed map of the proposed railroad line from Boston to Springfield (and Rock Ferry) Massachusetts, one of the earliest printed Railroad maps published in America.

There are actually two routes shown, each in minute detail, locating all of the towns along the route, existing road and some topographical features.

The map is quite scarce, this being the first example we have ever handed. The companion map, extending from Springfield to Albany, can be seen here: /gallery/detail/31668
