Rare map of the Southern Hemisphere, just prior to the first discoveries in the Antarctic.

Bouvet Island, located in 1709 is shown, but no land masses closer to the continent of Antarctica.   Australia and New Zealand are both still not accurately charted.

The map is very rare. We could find no auction records or institutional copies.
