Description:

Striking large format map of the Panama Canal, with historical and information vignettes.

Mr. Owens was the first civilian artist to fly over the Canal Zone. This bird's-eye view of the big canal, with its inserted sketches of the locks and interesting canal zone scenes is the result.  An extremely detailed and absolutely fascinating bird's eye view map of the Panama Canal area, with many inset details of the workings of the canal and local sights. Clearly the accuracy of the map was deemed an important selling point as the endorsement from George W. Goethals the Consulting Engineer on the Canal suggests.

Condition Description: Minor losses in the corners. Minor staining in the upper right corner
