Description
Fascinating promotional work extolling the virtues of Leroy, in Marion County, Florida.
Leroy, Florida would seem to have been a land fraud perpetrated by the Co-operative Land and Improvement Company of New York. There seems to be no meaningful history to the project, other than a plat map and this newspaper. We have found no record that the town was built, although we did find at least one deed dated 1892 that suggests the scheme was mildly successul.
