Description:

Ruffner's map illustrates the region from Pueblo to Albuquerque and from Trinidad to Fort Defiance.  The San Juan Mining region in Southwestern Colorado is illustrated with excellent detail, along with the rugged terrain on either side of the Rio Grande River.

While the map is described as being "corrected" this is a very different and much more readable map than the 1876 edition of the map.

The map illustrates numerous towns, forts, pueblos and other settled places.  Among the roads illustrated is the proposed Wagon Road from the San Luis Valley, southwest through the mountains past Gallena Mountain, down the Rio Puerco almost to Cerro Cabezon, then southwesterly to Blue Water, on the Road to Fort Wingate, west of Mount Taylor.
