Description:

Rare birdseye view of Etiwanda, California, at the time when it was the only developed part of the area around modern day Rancho Cucamonga and Alta Loma.

Fascinating birds-eye view, depicting the train station and looking northward toward Mt. Cucamonga.  Etiwanda was one of the earliest train and stage stops between Los Angeles and San Bernardino.  George and William Chaffee first purchased land in the area from Joseph Garcia in January 1882, making this one of the earliest obtainable images to reflect the Chaffee involvment in Etiwanda.  This is also the year that JH Scott came to Etiwanda and built the first new house in the area.
