Description: Rare French Sea Chart of the Atlantic Coast, from New York City to the Mouth of the San Juan River, in Florida. Includes 2 large inset maps, one of the Cheapeake Bay and one of New York Harbor, from Manhattan to Sandy Hook.
The map is a fine example of a working sea chart, which would have been carried aboard ships of the period. It includes the best available information for navigational purposes and would have been accompanied by Harbor Charts for the major ports. A bit of fold discoloration and some damp spots, but generally a nice example of this rare chart.
Condition Description: Minor soiling and dampstaining
