Description
Near fine example of Harper's map of the South, from Virginia and Florida to Kansas and Teas. As the map title notes, there primary focus of the map is on railroad lines, county towns, county roads and state capitals, which are shown in great detail. The map is embellished with large portraits of Lincoln, Seward, McClellan and Scott in the corners and an eleborate decorative border. The presaent example is in unsually nice condition, exhibiting none of the usual problems associated with the very thin paper on which the map was printed. The map has been archivally backed with Japan paper, but is otherwise a near flawless example.
