Description

Scarce map of Texas, which appeared in Henry Lange's Atlas von Nord Amerika, a work inspired no doubt by the very active migration of Germans to the United States in the 1850s. This map includes a number of fascinating details, including the land grant to the German emigrants, the post road from Neu Braunfels to Indianola, the stage roads, post roads and similar details. Each of the 65 existing counties is shown in outline, with the county towns listed. A very nice example, with wide margins. Only the second example of the map we have handled in the past 15 years.
