Description
Large format highly detailed map of the west from the Andriveau-Goujon Atlas, with inset of Central America.
Includes towns, roads, forts, Indian Tribes, sea and rail lines, mountains, rivers, lakes, etc. A number of boom mining towns are shown in the west, many of which have long since disappeared. Elevations shown for certain landmarks, such as Salt Lake. A marvelous large format western map, published in a number of editions of the Andriveau Goujon Atlas Usuel and Atlas Universel beginning in the late 1860s. This map comes in additions both before and after the founding of Yellowstone Park in 1872.
