Description: Nice full color example of Munster's map of Europe in the shape of a Queen. During the late 16th Century, a few map makers created these now highly prized map images, wherein countries and continents were given human or animal forms. Among the earliest examples is this map of Europe. A nice example in full color, from a German edition of Munster's Cosmographia, first published in 1545, but continuously expanded thereafter until the 1620s. Condition Description: Some spotting in the margins.
