Description: Striking full color example of Ogliby's map of Chili.
Ogilby's America, first published in 1671, was one of the most significant works on America published in English during the 17th Century. Much of the material is drawn from Arnoldus Montanus' work on America, but there are significant additions. This map appeared in both the English and Dutch works, this example coming from a wide margined English edition by Ogilby. Includes an ornate cartouche, compass rose and sailing ships. Nice detail, based upon Blaeu's map. A few minor spots, but generally a very nice example.
