Last year we shipped over 4,500 antique maps to more than 50 countries. Maps are shipped Monday through Friday year-round. If an order is received before 2 PM PST, we will ship the order that day. If an order is received after that time, we will ship the next day. We ship maps either flat in custom packages or in specially ordered thick tubes. Description

Large and very detailed composite map of southwestern Los Angeles County including Palos Verdes, San Pedro, Long Beach, Manhattan, Hermosa, and Redondo Beaches, Compton, Watts, Inglewood, etc., composed of nine joined sheets from early 1930s issues of the U.S. Geological Survey Topographical Quadrangle Sheets.

As with all topographical survey sheets, the building-level coverage is fantastic. The extent of the oil industry and related infrastructure is noteworthy.

Provenance

Colonel George Ruhlen (1884-1971), noted Southern California historical geographer.

Condition Description

Nine sheets trimmed and joined as one large map. Stored folding.
