Description

Lovely Map of the English Countryside

A detailed map of East and West Suffolk in the United Kingdom, based on Sheet 76 Thetford of the One-Inch series of the Ordnance Survey, (printed in 1920). Colorful depictions of the region's features are scattered throughout. The green forests near Brandon, blue waterways like the River Waveney, black rail lines, yellow roads, and orange elevation lines all combine to create a visually striking chart.

The map depicts a large number of villages and towns throughout the area. Some of the oldest continuously inhabited settlements in England, such as Mildenhall and Thetford, are illustrated along with interesting historical sites like the ruins of a nunnery or barrow grounds where the bodies of ancient warriors rest.  Newer sites, such as the Royal Worlington & Newmarket Golf Club (at 92-16), founded in 1893, are also mapped. Fowlmere Farm, part of the former Wretham Estate, is at 33-8.5.
